![]() ![]() ![]() Solution: Power Off the Server / power cycle the tape drive: Solution: select Properties - click drop down control that 'preserves media label' and set to not Solution: trying deleting the cleaning media, then re-importing & inventorying it. > That is set at 50, the tape currently states its only been mounted 4 times but still throwing up errors "attempt to clean a drive in a library with expired or bad cleaning media." The maximum number of cleanings is 20 by default. Solution: Backup Exec 2014 is new able to configure the maximum number of cleanings for a cleaning slot. ![]() Solution: I move the tape to a new slot BKE suddenly realizes it's unknown media, and then I can flag the new slot as cleaning media and it realizes there's a new tape inside. Below are some of the "solutions" I found on the Symantec website with my comments below each one. New cleaning tapes ordered and on the way, but hoping there is something else to try until they arrive. FYI: Back up server Win svr 2012 - up to date / BE 2014 - up to date / Tape drive Powervault TL 2000 I've tried two different tapes, each one in two different slots. ![]() I keep getting errors pointing to "expired or bad cleaning media" on a brand new cleaning tape, I spent the day yesterday on Symantec's website reading every helpful hint I could find and still no luck. ![]()
